Az öregedő falusi szívtipró, Nico, egész héten keményen dolgozik, hogy hat gyermekét tisztességgel felnevelhesse, de alig várja a vasárnapot, mert ilyenkor barátaival egy kis borozgatás, beszélgetés, tréfálkozás, filozofálgatás közben: együtt muzsikálhatnak. A dalok és a képzelet segítségével végre önmaga lehet és szabadon szárnyalhat, repülhet, mint egy vadmadár.
